Eat:: Afternoon Tea at Bill's

Is there anything better than treating yourself to a champagne afternoon tea for no other reason than you simply can?! This is exactly what my mum and I did this Monday just gone. We Christmas shopped and then decided to relax with sandwiches, scones, cake pops and more!

I'm a massive fan of Bill's; no matter which one I visit, the food is always good and the staff are friendly. I can honestly say that I'm working my way through their menu and I can now add a tick next to the afternoon tea option. Of course, as it was a treat to ourselves, we went for the champagne option; it was Monday, we weren't at work, and we had been Christmas shopping where there weren't crowds of people (why? it was Monday- it's never busy on Monday!!) - we deserved this!

Dinky finger sandwiches filled with various fillings (cucumber, ham & mustard, salmon), followed by a great selection of cakes. The cake pops were to die for... the red velvet was properly made; rich and moist, heaven on a cake pop stick.

The final tier was your staple to any self respecting afternoon tea: the scone. Served warm and with cream and jam (although it wasn't clotted cream so I was slightly disappointed by that- I mean, I am a Devon girl after all!).

Overall, I would certainly head back to Bill's for their afternoon tea, great price and lots of yummy treats. Failing that I'll just continue on working my way through the menu adding to their tortilla crisps, steak, fish pie, doughnuts, pancakes, full English...well, you get the idea!
