Unfortunately a lot of the displays at Ellis Island were empty as they were trying to preserve the original items after the damage of Hurricane Sandy. Nonetheless I find the place fascinating- I love the quotes from the people who experienced it first hand. Also, the view from the island, looking back to the city, is pretty spectacular.
We spent a long time on Ellis Island that we risked missing the last bus tour of the day and essentially wasting our tickets. A quick jog around Times Square and we made it! And I'm so glad we did. It was such a good tour-we saw so much-the Lincoln Centre, Upper West Side, Upper East Side, Harlem, views of New Jersey, most of Central Park.
