I can't believe it was the end of September that I was on a plane and on my way to Spain for a long weekend in the sun. It really doesn't feel like it was that long ago but I'm now actually closer to going to Iceland than when I was in Spain.
Okay, confession time, we flew into Alicante and our hotel was actually closer and named as being in Benidorm but I'm going with Alicante because...well Benidorm.
Trust me when I say it's one of the more interesting places I've been and I only saw Benidorm for a few hours on Sunday lunchtime. The horror stories that other people came back with don't bear thinking about it. Benidorm was a place to tick off the list but I'm fairly sure I'm not going to go back again.
Besides the erm, interesting, sights and stories of Benidorm, the rest of the weekend was lovely. We went as a work trip; netowork, learn but also to have a lot of fun and that we did.
We mainly stayed at the hotel- it was massive! 5 star (fancy-eh?) with what felt like a million pools and some of the best margaritas I've had.
The whole weekend went by in one fun, crazy blur! There were cocktails, a hair show, a gala dinner, sunning by the pool and a Hawaiian themed fancy dress party. Coming home and straight back into the swing of things was hugely tiring but I could get use to this travelling malarkey.
Some snaps from the trip...
