Bleurgh to February- the shortest month of the year but the one that feels the longest. A month where nothing much happens, we're too far away from the merriment of Christmas and still a long stretch away from the warm Spring and Summer. To conquer my February blues I try and find the positives and look for things to do.
:: WATCH THE RUGBY ::
The 6 Nations may just be my favourite event in the sporting calendar. Settling down on the sofa to watch an afternoon of rugby is a February winner to me.
:: MAKE SOUP ::
Strange thing is I'm not even a big lover of soup; leek and potato is where it's at if I have to choose. Luckily A is a fan and February is the month to stock up on soup.
:: REREAD MY FAVOURITE BOOKS ::
February is definitely the month to hibernate and what better way to do that than make yourself a nest in your blankets and read all your favourite books again. This time around I'm planning on rereading the Noughts and Cross series and Never Let Me Go.
:: HEAD TO THE BEACH ::
The beach in winter is amazing; it's empty and crisp air is so refreshing. Now that we have Edie it's a great reason to get out the house. She's still little and we can't take her on huge walks yet while she's still growing but we plan on taking her to the beach before the summer comes and the people descend.
:: SPRING CLEAN ::
There's something about February; it may not be quite Spring but the blue skies start keeping in and the evenings are kept at bay that little bit longer. I use February to declutter and get rid. There's something so rewarding about a clean house.
