5 Things You Should Always Do in New York
So here it is, my final New York post. I can't believe it's been so long since we've been back. I already want to go back; any takers on those plane tickets?
I think when you head to NY, no matter how long or short the trip is there are certain things that you just have to do.
VIEW THE CITY FROM UP HIGH// I love taking in city views from high up. And in NY you never run out of opportunities. For me, I don't know how to pick up a favourite. I've done Top of The Rock and The Empire State Building at day and at night. And I also love a good rooftop bar to take in the city with a cocktail in hand.
A MUSEUM// Go to any good city and you'll find fantastic museums. For our most recent trip we headed to the Natural History Museum. And boy, was it amazing. I mean I thought the London one was fantastic but I honestly think the New York one edges it. I have so many museums to add to my list I just ran out of time. But honestly, the Natural History wasn't just amazing for the animals and dinosaurs they have in there but the actual history behind the men who worked there and set it all up, I always find that fascinating.
BRUNCH AT RUE 57// I want to eat brunch from here every month but alas that's a long and expensive commute. So instead I'll just keep talking about how much I loved it. I went for the French toast and my god. My mouth waters just remembering it. I would easily go again and again to make my way through the breakfast menu.
STAYING IN AND ORDERING PIZZA// Jet lag sucks and there's no way to avoid it. You will want to crawl into bed at 6pm and not want to emerge until morning. And you know what- that's okay. You're on holiday- it's time to chill out and to take a break. I fully endorse the relaxing and staying in just as I do going out to explore. One of my favourite evenings was coming in after a busy day, putting on pjs, climbing into bed and eating pizza while watching tv.
SHOP ON BROADWAY// I love Broadway it has everything. My absolute favourite place was Artist and Fleas. There are a couple of locations in the city and Brooklyn and they have great concept. It's independent businesses all under one roof. I could have bought everything but if you want to support small businesses even while on holiday this is the place for you.
So there you have it, my absolutely top things that you have to do when you head to New York. And my NY posts are over, we had an amazing time and seeing the city all lit up and festive, it was purely magical.
