4 Things I'd like to Achieve Before I'm 30
2 weeks ago was my birthday. Turning 27 felt good; it feels like it's going to be a good year going forward. I feel more confident with myself and life. The stress of wedding planning is long gone and we've been able to relax and enjoy married life. It feels like its going to be a busy, fun but also chilled and more comforting year.
But god- late twenties- when did that sneak up on me? I can't believe the 30 milestone is the next big one. Not old for some but the oldest I've ever been and wow, it feels so grown up.
I'm ready for the next 3 years I think it's going to be filled with so many amazing things. There are things that I'm starting to think about more and more. Things that would be on my list to achieve before I hit to 30.
HOUSE SAVINGS// We all pay rent but it's the deposit which is the hardest thing to obtain. We're all encouraged to save for everything; we should have an ISA, a pension, additional savings, a rainy day fund- you name it we're suppose to product money for it. For and A it would be lovely to have our own home. A place we can decorate how we like; new flooring, a bathroom refurb, you name it we would be allowed to do it. Can you tell I have itchy feet?! After the wedding it was about reassessing and now we can look towards a house saving pile as well as the other pots!
TRAVEL MORE// This is always a resolution. For me I want to see more and do more where I can. Of course I'd love to do a big, long haul trip like Australia and New Zealand but with other wishes this might not be possible. And I'm happy to admit that, be realistic, save it for another time. I'd be happy with a cottage somewhere, with A and the dog; a weekend away with friends; a cheery beach holiday just working through my book pile. As long as I can keep up with seeing the world I'll be happy.
FAMILY// It's not something I talk about on my blog and I don't know why- maybe it's a case of too many people I actually know may read it- but having our own family is something A and I discuss a lot. We know it will be tough, like we may never sleep again and have no savings ever again (see how I'm going for a complete catch-22 of life goals?!) but we also know it will be so worth it. It does actually make my heart burst a little bit thinking about the future and if and when we are lucky enough.
GLASTONBURY// Yes I've been before but I'd more than love to go again. If I could just get tickets one more time before the big 3-0, I'd been more than happy. And yes I'm putting it down as somewhat as an achievement if you even make it on to the landing news it's kind of a goldmine, let alone submitting bank details and getting the golden tickets!
